A successful initiative aimed at enhancing the safety of a well-known shopping district in Liberty is proving to be effective.
Four out of four individuals who were arrested are now facing charges.

- Yolanda K. Tinsley, 54, of Kansas City, Mo. is charged with resisting arrest and misdemeanor stealing. She is accused of shoplifting $634.81 worth of items from Feldman’s Farm and Home, including Carhart coats and accessories
- Sylvester O. Smith, 58, of Columbia, Mo. is charged with misdemeanor stealing. Officers accuse him of stealing from Feldman’s Farm and Home.
- Joe W. Wright, 51, of Kansas City, Mo. is charged with misdemeanor stealing. He is also accused of stealing from Feldman’s Farm and Home.
During the operation, officers came across a stolen vehicle and immediately got in touch with the owner. Fortunately, the owner was able to reclaim her car, bringing a sense of relief to everyone involved.
The police chief had devised a plan to increase patrols in order to discourage theft. According to him, if any crimes were to occur, the additional patrols would ensure that there were officers readily available to respond promptly.
Plaza bar employees bravely barricaded an armed suspect into a corner until police arrived.
On December 5th, the Liberty police made an announcement about their successful operation to bust a shoplifting ring. During this operation, officers were able to recover a significant amount of stolen merchandise as well as drugs.
