On July 21, authorities apprehended Delontey Montario Butler, aged 31, for a series of offenses, including home invasion and first-degree assault, among others, that were committed in various areas. Butler was taken into custody on open warrants.
In 2023, Butler reportedly entered a residence in Lexington Park with a pocketknife, lunging at his victim before pulling out a firearm and threatening to shoot. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has issued warrants in connection with this incident.
According to investigators, Butler’s location was revealed to them on Sunday. They were able to apprehend him in a residential area located on Radford Lane in Lexington Park. However, before they could get hold of him, Butler had to be chased by the deputies for a short distance on foot.
The charges against Butler are numerous and serious, including multiple counts of assault, home invasion, and the use of a firearm during a violent crime, among others.
He spent his time at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown after being apprehended.
