Tupelo man faces felony shoplifting charges

In Tupelo, Mississippi, a theft investigation is finally seeing results thanks to the persistence of law enforcement officials.

A Ripley man has been arrested by the Tupelo Police in connection with two shoplifting cases that occurred in late September and early October.

On September 30, Tupelo Vape Shop reported an incident of shoplifting, which is considered a felony.

In Mississippi, stolen property is classified as a felony only if its value exceeds $1,000.

Cloud City Vape in Tupelo also reported a shoplifting incident a week later, which was classified as a felony.

Rashad Fryar of Ripley has been identified as the suspect in those cases, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, according to investigators.

On Saturday, Fryar was pulled over by Tupelo Police during a routine traffic stop, leading to his subsequent arrest.

The judge has decided to set the bond at $10,000.
