Three people were arrested for allegedly stealing AT&T copper wiring in North Mississippi to sell for scrap.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of stolen AT&T utility wires across Lafayette County since January.
An investigation led to several persons of interest linked to scrapping copper wire in north Mississippi.
Kevin Smith, 47, from Sardis, and Timothy Nissen, 39, and Lisa Nissen, 37, both from Batesville, were arrested during a traffic stop on South Lamar Boulevard and charged with grand theft.
They were taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
Smith and Timothy Nissen were each held on a $25,000 bond, while Lisa Nissen received a $15,000 bond.
