Man Charged in Double Shooting That Killed One and Injured Another
A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double shooting at the Independence Ridge Apartments that resulted in one fatality and left another person injured.
Nicolas Adolfo Camacho Sanchez was taken into custody early on December 5, 2024, following the shooting incident.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the scene at 2:46 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they located Sanchez in the apartment complex parking lot with blood on his clothing.
At Centerpoint Hospital, one of the victims—who had been shot in the torso—identified Sanchez as the shooter. Reports indicate the shooting followed a verbal altercation in the apartment.
Witnesses told authorities that the argument intensified during a heavy drinking session, with Sanchez allegedly threatening others while displaying a firearm. Court documents reveal that Sanchez fired multiple shots into the air and at a white van attempting to leave the scene, with the victim caught in the line of fire.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities work to gather additional evidence. Investigators discovered Sanchez’s brother dead in a back bedroom of the apartment.
Surveillance footage and witness accounts confirmed Sanchez’s involvement in the incident. He is now facing charges related to the shooting and his brother’s death.
