Starting the week with freezing rain: slippery conditions ahead, weak disturbances persist

Tonight, valleys below 4000 ft will experience a combination of rain and snow, leading to mixed winter precipitation.

Travelers should exercise caution tomorrow morning due to the possibility of freezing rain occurring tonight and tomorrow morning.

Temperatures tonight will drop to the range of the mid 20s to low 30s.

Tomorrow morning, there may be a potential issue with low visibility caused by fog and/or low stratus clouds. Thankfully, this should improve as the morning progresses.

Temperatures are expected to rise to the low 40s during the day.

Valleys will not see much new snowfall, but mountainous areas will steadily accumulate snowfall throughout the week.

Most regions are unlikely to experience a white Christmas.

Mixed winter precipitation will persist over the next few days as a series of weak weather disturbances move through. However, Tuesday will offer a brief respite from the wintry mix.

Thursday could see the arrival of our next weather system, which has the potential to bring snow to lower elevations.
