Sources say the DNC has removed the ‘Tennessee Three’ from Thursday night’s speaker lineup

According to sources, the “Tennessee Three” will not be speaking at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night, as confirmed by WSMV4.

Rep. Justin Pearson, D-Memphis, Rep. Justin Jones, D-Nashville, and Rep. Gloria Johnson, D-Knoxville, had been slated to address the DNC on Thursday night, coinciding with Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance of her party’s presidential nomination.

Unfortunately, the three individuals will not be performing on stage. The DNC’s main programming for Thursday evening is scheduled to start at 5:30, but the reasons for their absence have not been disclosed.

Pearson, Jones, and Johnson were fired from the Tennessee State House in April 2023. They were dismissed for inciting protests from the gallery and using a bullhorn to shout about gun control directly from the House floor.

In Nashville, the protests ignited and spread to the Tennessee legislature following a tragic incident on March 27, 2023. Six individuals, including three children, lost their lives at the Covenant School due to the actions of a former student.

All three individuals faced an expulsion vote due to their actions. This resulted in Pearson and Jones being expelled from the legislature. Rep. Johnson narrowly avoided expulsion, but she was stripped of her committee memberships. However, both Pearson and Jones managed to win re-election in their respective districts a few months later.

Rep. Johnson is currently in a race against Republican Marsha Blackburn for a U.S. Senate seat.
