Lackawanna firefighters were called to a house fire on Colton Avenue at approximately 7 a.m. on Christmas morning.
According to the department’s chief, they successfully rescued one individual from the blazing residence. Firefighters bravely pulled the person out through the front window of the house.
According to the chief, the individual was taken to ECMC in critical condition. Fortunately, other individuals managed to escape from the house, although the interior sustained substantial damage.
The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
On Thursday, it was revealed by 7 News that the house has been condemned and authorities have ordered an emergency demolition, scheduled to take place in the coming days.
