Early Sunday morning, a Brentwood woman was charged with multiple offenses for reportedly driving under the influence on the incorrect side of the highway.
Emily Lecuyer, who is just 20 years old, has been accused of committing several serious crimes, including felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence, and disobeying an officer.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, there were several reports of a driver going in the wrong direction on Interstate 93 at approximately 3:30 a.m. The vehicle was observed traveling southbound in the northbound lanes.
As he was patrolling near Exit 17 in Concord, Trooper Zachary Bilotta spotted a vehicle, but the driver, who was later identified as Lecuyer, did not stop for his emergency lights and proceeded to drive south.
As he manned the crossover near Exit 16, Sgt. Anthony Pratt deftly deployed a tire deflation device, which successfully punctured Lecuyer’s tires. Despite this, Lecuyer persisted with her attempt to flee, but eventually came to a stop just north of the Interstate 393 interchange.
After her arrest, she was taken to Troop D barracks for processing. However, she was later released on personal recognizance.
A court appearance for Lecuyer has been scheduled at Concord District Court, but the specific date has not been disclosed yet.
