In Maywood, Missouri, a car break-in quickly escalated into a high-speed car chase as the suspect attempted to flee from the scene. During the pursuit, the suspect resorted to firing gunshots, intensifying the already dangerous situation.
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office received a call in Maywood, Missouri, about a suspicious person trying to enter a vehicle in a resident’s driveway around 4:00 a.m. on November 30th.
When the deputies arrived, they were informed that the reporting party had gone outside after noticing something suspicious. As soon as the homeowner made their presence known, the suspect(s) quickly escaped in a dark-colored SUV.
The witness who saw the suspects escaping took it upon themselves to chase after the vehicle as it fled into Marion County. As the pursuit reached the West Quincy area, the suspects discharged a firearm at the witness’s vehicle, causing damage. Thankfully, no one was injured during this incident.
The authorities discovered that the vehicle used by the suspect(s) had been stolen from Quincy, Illinois. The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the Quincy Police Department, is currently investigating the incident and working diligently to find the individuals involved.
