Man Dies After SUV Rolls Twice in Central Kansas Accident

A man from Kansas City, Kansas, was killed early Friday when his SUV crashed off U.S. Highway 56 in Rice County.

The incident occurred just east of 28th Road between the towns of Lyons and McPherson. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Gabriel Herron, 26, was driving westbound on the highway when his Honda Element veered off the road to the right.

Troopers report that Herron overcorrected his steering, returned to the road, and then went back into the ditch. The SUV then rolled over twice.

The Kansas Highway Patrol noted that Herron was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
