Kamala Harris Will Visit Indianapolis During The Opening Days Of The Presidential Campaign

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to attend Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s convention in Indianapolis. The Sorority has invited her to the convention due to her impressive legacy. The Vice President’s appearance on Wednesday will mark the beginning of her campaign for the upcoming presidential election in November.

Zeta Phi Beta’s Grand Boulé at the Indiana Convention Center has Harris as its featured speaker, a plan that was made prior to President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the forthcoming election and his endorsement of the vice president for the position.

Dr. Stacie NC Grant, the president and CEO of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., was taken aback by the news, “I was on the verge of passing out when I heard the news. I couldn’t wrap my head around it and kept asking myself, ‘Is this really happening?'”

Zeta Phi Beta, which is part of the Divine Nine – a group of nine historically Black fraternities and sororities, is where Kamala Harris is not a member. Nevertheless, Harris is part of another Divine Nine organization, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Grant expressed her gratitude that Harris decided to share her message through the Zetas.

Grant expressed gratitude for the opportunity to hear from someone in a position of power who values their intellect and views on improving the country. Despite differences in uniform and affiliation, the shared goal is to enhance communities and bring about meaningful transformation.

Over 6,000 Zetas are anticipated to attend the Grand Boulé in Indianapolis from Tuesday through Sunday.

In July of last year, Harris visited Indianapolis to address a different Divine Nine organization, specifically the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
