An investigation has been initiated by Mississippi authorities following the discovery of a body in a wooded area in Ridgeland on Wednesday.
At approximately 9:45 a.m. on August 7th, authorities from the Ridgeland Police Department discovered a body in the vicinity of a wooded area situated off of Rice Road.
It is believed by officials that the body had been present at the location for a considerable period of time.
The identity of the individual, assumed to be a male, remains unknown.
The scene was attended by not only the Madison County Sheriff’s Office but also the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) Crime Scene Unit, Reservoir police, and park rangers.
