Heartbreak in Beulah: Teen Stepsisters Fatally Shot on Christmas Eve

Two Beulah Teens Killed on Christmas Eve, Suspect Charged with Capital Murder

Heartbreaking details have emerged regarding a Christmas Eve shooting in Beulah, Alabama, that claimed the lives of two young women.

The victims, 18-year-old Madison Daly and 19-year-old Kayden Lynch, were stepsisters and roommates, according to Madison’s mother.

Daly leaves behind a young daughter. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the family during this tragic time.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 18-year-old Jalen Holmes, who was arrested and charged with capital murder involving two or more victims on December 24, 2024. Holmes remains in custody at the Lee County Detention Center.

The shooting occurred around 3:48 p.m. CST near Lee Road 2113 and US 29 North, where the stepsisters lived. Deputies responding to reports of gunfire discovered Daly and Lynch unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds. Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton pronounced both victims dead at the scene at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Authorities revealed that prior to the shooting, Holmes allegedly assaulted his mother at her nearby residence and stole a handgun. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots shortly afterward. Evidence suggests Holmes left his mother’s home and entered the neighboring residence, where Daly and Lynch were found.

Two 9-year-old twin girls, who had been at the residence earlier, had left shortly before the shooting and were unharmed.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident and has urged anyone with information to contact their Investigations Division at 334-737-7155 or Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867).
