On July 3, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a man for reportedly bringing a 14-year-old girl from North Carolina to Georgia.
On July 3, the United States Marshals reached out to the Sheriff’s Office Trafficking and Child Exploitation and Gang Units for assistance in locating the missing girl.
According to reports, an 18-year-old named Kevin Carcamo-Garcia from Lilburn was in a romantic relationship with the girl. Law enforcement officers arrested him at his residence in Lilburn.
The sheriff’s office stated that Carcamo-Garcia confessed to transporting the girl from North Carolina to Georgia.
The Georgia Department of Family and Children Services safely transferred the girl back to her mother after she was found.
The bond for his release was set at $11,400, and he was subsequently booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.
