Drowning incident reported in Northwest Wichita due to a medical condition

Police have informed 12 News that the incident that resulted in a drowning call at a residence near 37th Street North and Maize Road on Tuesday night was medically related.

According to Sedgwick County dispatchers, the individual was unresponsive upon the arrival of first responders. However, there is no current update on the person’s condition.

Emergency responders are currently at the location of a potential drowning incident in west Wichita.

Emergency personnel received a call to respond to the 4000 block of N. Westbrook, near 37th Street North and Maize Road, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual who was unresponsive, as reported by Sedgwick County dispatchers.
