Driver on Long Island hits elderly pedestrian, drags victim to roadside, and flees the scene

A dark-colored SUV hit 74-year-old Jeffrey Frank as he was crossing Broadway near the Everit Avenue intersection in Hewlett at around 10 p.m., as reported by Nassau County Police.

According to witnesses, the motorist proceeded to exit his vehicle and swiftly pulled the victim away from the oncoming traffic on the roadway, as reported by the police.

Afterward, he returned to his car and drove away, according to the police.

Frank tragically lost his life due to the severity of his injuries while being transported to a nearby hospital, according to the police.

The driver who fled the scene had not been apprehended by Thursday evening.
