Couple charged for child neglect in Yukon parking lot

Two individuals were taken into custody in Yukon, Oklahoma, on charges of child neglect and possession of a controlled substance. Following a report from a concerned individual, law enforcement discovered the couple and their three children in a Walmart parking lot.

Major Zach Roberson from the Yukon Police Department reported that when their officers arrived at the scene, they discovered three children along with an adult who was identified as the parent of the children.

According to officers, they discovered that the car had malfunctioned, leading the family to spend the night sleeping in their vehicle.

The children’s mother, Brianna Findley, was requested to contact a family member for assistance.

Upon further investigation, law enforcement officials became increasingly suspicious, particularly concerning the well-being of the children involved.

According to Roberson, the child appeared lethargic and had shallow breathing. When approached, the child did not respond.

When questioned about the whereabouts of Brianna’s husband, Damien, the police were informed that he was nearby.

Shortly after, the police requested Brianna to exit the vehicle.

According to Roberson, the parent became defensive during the conversation with the officers.

The children were escorted to a police car for some respite and nourishment. Authorities reported that the two-year-old appeared to be unconscious.

According to Roberson, medical had to be called and they arrived promptly. They decided to administer an IV to the child. During this process, they noticed some irregularities in the child’s condition.

According to the police report, officers observed signs of heat rash, bug bites, and bruising.

Nurses at the hospital discovered a bruise on the child’s leg that appeared to be the result of a forceful grab, as evidenced by four distinct finger marks.

Brianna and Damien Findley found themselves in handcuffs as they were taken into custody.

Roberson stated that the parents were arrested for child endangerment and abuse after methamphetamine and other drugs were found on them.

The Yukon police have reported that all three children are currently under the care of a family member.

It is crucial for them to emphasize the significance of contacting the police if individuals come across anything that appears to be abnormal.
