According to Chicago police, a man was killed and a woman was injured in a drive-by shooting on the South Side on Saturday night.
According to law enforcement officials, the incident took place at around 11:15 p.m. on East 21st Street in the South Loop area. A shooting occurred in the 100-block of the street, as per reports.
A 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were going down the sidewalk when a white SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, police said.
Police said the victim, who had been shot many times, was taken to Northwestern Hospital in serious condition and pronounced dead.
Transferred to the same hospital, the leg-shot woman was treated well.
No one is in custody, and Area Three detectives are conducting an investigation.
The police did not immediately release any information about the shooting.
