Arrest made in human trafficking case involving a woman

WARR ACRES, Okla. – On Thursday, August 1, a woman was arrested on charges of allegedly trafficking a minor.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) reported that its Human Trafficking Unit, along with the Warr Acres Police Department, responded to an apartment on July 29, 2024.

“Warr Acres officers discovered a minor in the apartment who may have been a victim of human trafficking,” stated OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward. “OBN’s Human Trafficking Unit spoke with the minor, her mother, and found sufficient evidence that Sarah Larayna Holland, who has connections to the family, was trafficking the minor.”

According to OBN, Holland was involved in setting up advertisements on commercial sex websites to arrange meetings with the victim.

“Holland coordinated the locations of these meetings with those who responded to the ads and even ‘coached’ the minor on how to behave during these encounters,” Woodward added.

Authorities confirmed that Holland was taken into custody and faces multiple potential charges, including Human Trafficking of a Minor and Use of a Computer to Violate State Statute. Additional arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.

“OBN is thankful the victim and her mother had the bravery to come forward and help us stop this trafficker. We want other victims to know they don’t have to be afraid; they are not alone, and recovery services are available,” said OBN Director Donnie Anderson.

Suspected human trafficking can be reported anonymously to OBN’s Human Trafficking Tip Line at 855-617-2288 or through a Facebook DM to OBN.
