After a traffic stop, authorities in Texas arrested two men when they discovered stolen items in their possession.
The Arkansas State Police recently reported that a vehicle traveling on Highway 65 near Tower Road just south of Omaha was pulled over by officers during a routine traffic stop.
During a routine check, the ASP Troopers stumbled upon a suspicious vehicle carrying two men who failed to provide any proof of purchase for nearly 24 unopened garage door openers. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that these items originated from a Lowe’s store in Bentonville and that the men were allegedly involved in a barcode swapping scheme spanning across multiple states. With the help of the ASP Special Agents from the Criminal Investigation Division, the suspects were found to be in possession of stolen goods worth over $160,000.
Texas residents Terry White, 52, and Robert Diaz, 34, faced charges of Felony Theft by Receiving. Additionally, White currently has active warrants from Alabama, Florida, and Kentucky.
Online records show that the Boone County Detention is currently holding both men.
