A motorist killed a pedestrian before a second car crashed with them on the East Freeway, Said HPD

According to the Houston Police Department, a driver who tragically struck a pedestrian on the East Freeway caused a chain-reaction crash leading to six people being hospitalized.

A tragic incident occurred on the I-10 East Freeway at Federal Road shortly after midnight on Saturday. Officers from the Houston Police Department (HPD) were called to the location in response to a serious vehicle collision. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a man at the scene.

A man claims that fallen power lines from a chain-reaction crash “whiplashed” into the side of his car.

The man, who was reportedly standing in the middle of two lanes, was hit by the driver who did not see him, as per authorities.

The driver made a sudden stop and as a result, another car collided with the back of her car.

Five individuals were in the second vehicle, according to authorities. They were taken to the hospital for medical attention, but fortunately, they did not sustain any serious injuries and are expected to recover fully.

The woman in the first car also suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, she is expected to recover.

A 27-year-old individual was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident on Highway 99. According to the police, parts of the suspect vehicle were discovered at the scene of the crime.

Investigators are currently working to ascertain the motive behind the man’s presence in the middle of the road.
