A spokesperson from the Indiana State Police has reported that the suspect charged with the murder of a 17-year-old has been apprehended in Indiana. The accused, who hails from Ohio, allegedly shot and killed the victim.
On Saturday, Indiana State Police were notified by Ohio authorities that the suspect they were searching for might be traveling on the Indiana Toll Road.
According to a spokesperson, a car that fit the given description was spotted by a trooper in LaPorte County at around 9:57 a.m.
Upon spotting the suspect’s vehicle, the trooper proceeded to follow it and verified that it was indeed the car they were looking for. Without hesitation, the trooper called for backup to assist in the pursuit.
According to the spokesperson, the driver was stopped by authorities in the vicinity of the 38-mile marker of the Indiana Toll Road.
LaPorte County Jail took into custody a 22-year-old male from Painesville, Ohio who was arrested.
The suspect’s identity will be disclosed by the Willoughby Police Department in northeastern Ohio, as they investigate the fatal shooting. The suspect is expected to be arraigned soon.
