Jesse Boniface, a 52-year-old Middletown resident, was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision for a November 2023 assault, Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on Monday, December 16.
Hoovler credited the swift action of the Town of Crawford Police, with assistance from the New York State Police in forensic analysis, for securing Boniface’s conviction. According to court documents, Boniface was found guilty of engaging in sexual intercourse and oral sexual conduct by forcible compulsion with another individual.
The incident was reported to the Town of Crawford Police, who conducted an investigation that led to Boniface’s arrest.
“The only sentence appropriate in this case was the one imposed, which is the maximum allowed under the law,” Hoovler stated. He also commended the victim for their courage, noting the lasting impact of the crime.
