The NYPD is seeking assistance from the public in locating a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman in Clason Point.
The police reported that the woman encountered the man and entered his vehicle. Subsequently, the man sexually assaulted her and fled the scene.
The incident took place on Thursday evening, around 8:30 p.m., in the vicinity of White Plains Road and Gildersleeve Avenue.
The victim was transported to a hospital for evaluation, according to investigators.
The reason for their meeting in the area at that particular time remains unclear as of Sunday evening.
According to local women interviewed by News 12, this incident served as a wake-up call for them.
Andrea Thomas expressed her deep concern, saying, “That’s really frightening. As a mother, I can’t help but feel on high alert. I’m genuinely scared.”
Oneda expressed her thoughts about the area, stating that it had a pleasant atmosphere in the past but is currently undergoing changes.
According to the police, they are currently in search of a man who is approximately 6 feet tall and has a medium build. The man was last spotted wearing a black jacket, dark grey pants, and white sneakers.
