Martinez Hernandez was apprehended in June at a bar in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a full 10 months after the discovery of Morin’s lifeless body on the Ma & Pa Trail in Harford County.
After being apprehended, he was eventually transported to Maryland, where he now confronts a multitude of charges including first and second-degree murder, rape, sex offense, and kidnapping.
Investigators received a tip indicating that Martinez Hernandez had made his way to the Tulsa area following his escape from Maryland.
Martinez Hernandez remains in custody without the possibility of bail and is scheduled to face trial on October 23.

According to the police, DNA evidence from the crime scene of Morin’s assault in Los Angeles matched the DNA found at a home invasion involving a child.
Martinez Hernandez was identified as the prime suspect in the Los Angeles home invasion based on DNA testing and surveillance video footage of him breaking in.
