An eight-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being fatally stabbed by his own brother in a horrifying incident that also saw their parents attacked inside their Queens home on July 4. Police responded to a distress call from a residence at 147-25 94th Ave. in Jamaica, Queens, New York, shortly before 5:30 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing the mother covered in blood, fleeing into the street and pleading for assistance.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic scene where a 20-year-old man had his father in a headlock with a knife to his neck. Despite attempts to subdue him, the attacker ultimately succumbed to injuries after being transported to the hospital. NYPD Chief John Chell recounted the intervention by officers, stating they issued multiple commands in both English and Spanish for the assailant to drop the weapon, but he refused. As a result, one officer discharged a single shot, effectively saving the father’s life.
The tragic incident in Queens resulted in the family being rushed to the hospital, where both the young boy and his brother, who was the assailant, succumbed to their injuries, according to the New York Post.
The mother, aged 29, and father, aged 43, are currently receiving treatment for their wounds. Remarkably, an 8-month-old infant who was also present in the home escaped unharmed during the violent episode. Police are still investigating the relationship between the suspect and the young victim, whether they were biological brothers, stepbrothers, or how the tragic event unfolded.
The investigation is ongoing.
